Mere mention of the Horde will cause most people to gasp and make signs to ward off evil. They are used in tales to scare children into doing their chores. Most older folk will have stories of them in one form or another, rarely of actual personal experience. Not many who saw them ever lived to tell about it. The best resource are from old soldiers who fought in the great war. And most of what they can tell are tales of savage beasts and acts of horror and cruelty beyond measure.
They are generally described as beast-like men, creatures that walk on two legs, but have the head of goats or rams. They are strong and wicked creatures that worship the dark powers.
Most people want to believe that they are beaten and gone, driven back to their lands to the west, over the mountains. They give thanks to the kings guard for patrolling the western border, just in case any of the foul creatures survived. But to those that have seen them, there is a great fear in their eyes. A fear that the Horde will return one day and that they might be alive to see it.
